Tour

A tour that will take us through the best of England, from the beautiful landscapes of the Lake District to medieval cities such as York, Barnard Castle, Chester, Stratford, and Winchester. We will explore the elegant Georgian city of Bath with its Roman baths and the modern city of Liverpool, birthplace of the Beatles. We will also enjoy a few days in London to enjoy this captivating city and its atmosphere. Afterwards, we will travel to Edinburgh to begin another exclusive route where we will discover the essence of Scotland by visiting some of its most emblematic places, such as the historic University of St Andrews, the impressive Highlands region with its mystical Loch Ness, and the Scottish Lake District, a natural paradise to explore. In addition, we incorporate a touch of whisky, unforgettable experiences, and quality accommodation.

Day 1 - LONDON

Transfer from London Heathrow Airport to the hotel. Accommodation and breakfast at Thistle London Marble Arch, The Cumberland Hotel, Royal National Hotel or similar.

Day 2 - LONDON

In the morning we will take a panoramic tour of London by bus, where we will visit the districts of Westminster, Kensington, Mayfair and Belgravia. We will stop to photograph Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Eye, the Royal Albert Hall and the Albert Memorial. In addition, we will have the opportunity to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace (provided it operates that day). We will tour the West End (theatre and restaurant area), Picadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square, and very representative cultural areas such as: the Natural History Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Science Museum and the National Gallery. This tour will end at Buckingham Palace and you will have the rest of the day free in London to discover more about this magnificent city. Accommodation and breakfast at the Thistle London Marble Arch, The Cumberland Hotel, Royal National Hotel or similar.

Day 3 - LONDON - CAMBRIDGE - YORK

We will leave London to the north towards the university city of Cambridge. On a walking tour we will be able to admire architecture from different periods in the ancient University Colleges. This university has produced great geniuses and personalities who have shaped the world, such as Newton, Stephen Hawking and Alan Turing, the father of computing, among many others. On the way to York we will pass through Sherwood Forest, where the legend of Robin Hood was born and we will stop en route for lunch. York is a beautiful city of Roman origin with a long history linked to Vikings and Saxons. Before going to the hotel we will take a walking tour of its charming medieval streets where you will have the opportunity to see the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe and walk along its medieval wall. At night it is recommended to walk through the illuminated city and visit one of its typical pubs. Accommodation and breakfast at the Hampton by Hilton York Hotel, Park Inn York or similar.

Day 4 - YORK - BARNARD CASTLE - LAKE DISTRICT - LIVERPOOL

Today will be a day of spectacular scenery, where we will visit two national parks; the Yorkshire Pennines and the Lake District. After breakfast we will cross the beautiful Yorkshire countryside to reach the medieval town of Barnard Castle, where we will make a brief stop to see its legendary streets. Next, we will enter the green valleys and hills of the Yorkshire Pennines National Park, unchanged for thousands of years, considered the backbone of England. We will arrive at the Lake District, one of the most beautiful regions of the country, which has inspired numerous English romantic poets and where the feeling of peace is overwhelming. It is here that we will have time for lunch and in the afternoon we will take a boat ride on Lake Windermere. We will continue to Liverpool, a port city from which millions of emigrants left for the new world and birthplace of the famous rock group: The Beatles. After dinner at the hotel you can visit the legendary The Cavern Club, where the Beatles played almost 300 concerts. Dinner, bed and breakfast at the Marriott Liverpool Hotel, Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel or similar.

Day 5 - LIVERPOOL - CHESTER - LIVERPOOL

In the morning we will leave for Chester, to take a walking tour of this walled city of Roman origin that seems straight out of a fairy tale, with its houses with wooden facades in the neo-Tudor “Black & White” style and its magnificent Gothic cathedral. We will also have free time to walk through its streets before leaving back to Liverpool. We will arrive before lunch and we will take a magical and mysterious Panoramic Tour of Liverpool to get to know the city of the Beatles and the places that inspired many of their songs. We will visit its cathedrals: the Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral and the Anglican Cathedral, and in the port area we will visit the well-known “Albert Dock”, the maritime Liverpool, a fascinating area where you can explore the growth of Liverpool and the new cultural area that extends beyond the port. Here we will find places such as: the Merseyside Maritime Museum, the “Tate” Gallery, the Museum of Liverpool, the British Music Experience or The Beatles Story museum (optional visit). Free afternoon in Liverpool to enjoy the city. Bed and breakfast at the Delta by Marriott Liverpool, Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel or similar.

Day 6 - LIVERPOOL - STRATFORD UPON AVON - COTSWOLD - BATH

Today, our tour will take us to Stratford-Upon-Avon, a charming town on the banks of the River Avon and birthplace of playwright William Shakespeare. We will take a short sightseeing tour on foot and have free time for lunch, to stroll through its streets, and to see some of the places that inspired his works. In Stratford there are several institutions dedicated to the study of Shakespeare such as the “Shakespeare Birthplace” foundation and the “Shakespeare Institute”. We will continue through the picturesque villages of the Cotswolds region, with their thatched cottages and beautiful gardens, we will be in the most representative of the English spirit. We will make a pleasant stop in one of its charming villages and continue our route to the south west where we will stay in the city of Bath or Bristol. Bed and breakfast at the Hampton by Hilton Bath, Mercure Holland House in Bristol or similar.

Day 7 - BATH - STONEHENGE - BATH

This morning we visit the mystical dolmen monument of Stonehenge. The grand and ancient stone circle of Stonehenge, over 5,000 years old, is one of the wonders of the world and has sparked the imagination and intrigue of visitors for centuries. It is the centrepiece of Salisbury Plain, displaying a mysterious landscape dotted with prehistoric burial mounds and carvings, which are now a World Heritage Site. In the afternoon we return to Bath where we will immerse ourselves in the history and beauty of this city with a panoramic walking tour. We will stroll through its flower-bedecked streets, see its Georgian architecture and have free time to visit the Roman Baths (optional). You will have the afternoon at leisure in Bath. Don't miss Bath Abbey, an imposing 18th-century church with a stunning façade and ornate interior, The Jane Austen Museum, a museum dedicated to the life and work of the famous novelist, who lived in Bath for several years or Pulteney Bridge, a triple-arched Georgian bridge spanning the River Avon and offering stunning views of the city. Day 8 - BATH - SALISBURY - WINCHESTER -– LONDON

We leave Bath for a short walking tour of the charming city of Salisbury, where we will pass by its medieval cathedral, as it is home to the best preserved copy of the Magna Carta signed in 1215 by King John I of England. Afterwards, we will head to the historic city of Winchester, capital of Anglo-Saxon England. We will take a walking tour to enjoy the city that represents the soul of England and we will pass by its magnificent Gothic cathedral where Jane Austen is buried alongside Saxon and Viking kings such as Alfred the Great and Canute the Great. We will pass by the Great Hall of Winchester Castle where King Arthur's Round Table is located. Finally, we will return to London in the mid-afternoon with time for some last-minute shopping. Accommodation and breakfast at The Cumberland Hotel, Thistle London Marble Arch, Royal National Hotel or similar.

Day 9 - LONDON - EDINBURGH

Pick up by our assistant at the indicated hotels and transfer to Euston station, from where you will catch a train to Edinburgh. Upon arrival in Edinburgh, an Anglovision representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Bed and breakfast at the InterContinental Edinburgh the George, Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel or similar.

Day 10 - EDINBURGH

After enjoying our breakfast, we will go on a half-day tour including entry to Edinburgh Castle. In the afternoon, we will have free time to visit the elegant 18th century “Georgian New Town” and the historic “Old Town”. Edinburgh is considered the second most visited city in the United Kingdom after London and has also been home to the Scottish Parliament since 1999. Bed and breakfast at the InterContinental Edinburgh the George, Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel or similar.

Day 11 - EDINBURGH – FIFE – ST ANDREWS – DUNDEE – GLAMIS CASTLE – ABERDEEN

We'll begin this tour with a drive north from Edinburgh where we'll spot the famous Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed suspension bridge that offers stunning views of the Firth of Forth. We will continue our trip through the Kingdom of Fife en route to St. Andrews, the birthplace of world-class golf and home of the University of St. Andrews, the oldest in Scotland, where Prince William and Kate Middleton studied. We will admire St. Andrews Cathedral and St. Andrews Castle from the outside, before continuing to the coastal city of Dundee, where we will have free time for lunch in one of its local restaurants. In the afternoon, we head north to Glamis Castle, the family residence of the Queen Mother and the birthplace of Princess Margaret, sister of Queen Elizabeth II. This magnificent fortified castle, with later additions that turned it into a stately home, will captivate us with its history and beauty. We will enjoy a guided tour of its different rooms and gardens. Dinner, accommodation and breakfast at Ardoe House Hotel & Spa, Thainstone House or similar.

Day 12 - ABERDEEN – SPEYSIDE DESTILLERY – CAIRNGORMS NATIONAL PARK – INVERNESS

After breakfast, we offer a panoramic tour of Aberdeen, the third largest city in Scotland, also known as the "Granite City" for the abundance of this material in its buildings. We will be able to admire the imposing Aberdeen Cathedral, the prestigious University of Aberdeen and its lively shopping street Union Street. We will leave for the Speyside region, known as The Malt Whiskey Trail, famous for its high concentration of high-quality distilleries located along the River Spey. Here we will stop to have our first tasting in one of them. After and before arriving in Inverness, we will make a brief stop in Carrbridge. A small town located in the Cairngorms National Park where we can admire its famous 18th century packhorse bridge and the Dulnain River winding through the landscape. In Inverness, we will do a brief introduction to this city to learn about its history and most emblematic places. Dinner, accommodation and breakfast at the River Ness Hotel, The Kingsmills Hotel, Leonardo Hotel Inverness or similar.

Day 13 - INVERNESS – CULLODEN – SUENO STONE – ELGIN – NAIRN – INVERNESS

After breakfast, we will visit Culloden Battlefield, scene of the last Jacobite uprising in 1745. At the Battlefield visitor center we will learn in depth about the history of this event and its impact on the history of Scotland. On the way to Elgin, we will make a brief stop to admire Sueno’s Stone. A huge Picto-Scottish style cross slab, the tallest surviving in the country, standing approximately 6.5 metres. We will then arrive in Elgin, in the heart of the Speyside region and famous for its historical heritage. We will visit the ruins of its majestic Cathedral, considered one of the most important in Scotland. During our time in Elgin, we will enjoy a unique visit to Johnstons of Elgin, Scotland's last vertical weaving mill. Here we will discover the processes behind their luxurious Cashmere and Merino Wool designs, followed by a traditional Afternoon Tea including a selection of sweet and savory delights and a selection of specialty tea or coffee. On the way back to Inverness we will make a brief stop at Nairn beach. This village is a popular family holiday destination in Scotland and is located on the Moray Firth. With a little luck, we'll have the opportunity to spot Highland wildlife, including dolphins and minke whales. Day 14 - INVERNESS – LAKE NESS – FORT WILLIAM – BEN NEVIS – LOCH LOMOND

We will begin the day with an exciting crossing over Loch Ness, departing from the port of Dochgarroch. We will travel for the opportunity to see the adored Highland Cows, a native breed of Scotland made up of its long and thick hair that falls on its face like a fringe. These cows graze around the port in some months of the year, offering a picturesque spectacle. During the cruise we will enjoy panoramic views of the lake and its surroundings, including the imposing ruins of Urquhart Castle. Look out to see Nessie, the lake monster. After this relaxing cruise we will go to Fort William, known as the capital of two radical sports and free activities practiced in Scotland. Here we will make a stop for lunch and have the opportunity to contemplate Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the United Kingdom. Our next stop will be the famous Ben Nevis distillery, which obtained its license in 1825 and where we will once again enjoy the unique flavor of this Scotch whisky. Next, we will cross Glencoe Valley and its dramatic mountain landscape to reach our hotel. Stay, stay and enjoy coffee at Forest Hills Hotel and Resort, Lodge on the Loch or similar.

Day 15 - LOCH LOMOND – GLASGOW – EDINBURGH

On our last day, we will enjoy the fresh air and landscapes offered by Loch Lomond National Park and The Trossachs, as we travel through them to reach Glasgow. Finally we will arrive in Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. During the panoramic tour, you will be captivated by its Victorian architecture and unique charm. Affectionately nicknamed "Glasvegas", this city offers you a perfect mix of culture, shopping, gastronomy and nightlife. We will enjoy its green spaces, its famous street for shopping lovers Buchanan Street and we will pass through its impressive Cathedral of Gothic architecture before arriving in Edinburgh. Day 16 - EDINBURGH

Free day in Edinburgh. Bed and breakfast at Novotel Edinburgh Centre, Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel or similar.

Day 17 - EDINBURGH

Free day in Edinburgh until transfer back to Edinburgh Airport for your departure flight.

  • Due to the Labour Party Annual Conference in Liverpool, the tour hotel in Liverpool may be subject to last minute changes to a hotel in or around Manchester, should hotel demand require it. This conference usually takes place around September.
